Bio

Fabian Reimair was born in Vienna, Austria, where he trained and began the first 8 years of his professional career as a dancer for the Vienna State Ballet in 1994. There, he created many roles for the director and house choreographer at the time, Renato Zanella, and was promoted to Demi Soloist after six years with the company.

In 2002 he joined the English National Ballet (ENB) as a Junior Soloist, was promoted to Soloist in 2003 and First Soloist in 2007. During his time with the ENB, Fabian has performed many principal roles, such as 'Albrecht' in Giselle, 'Prinz Désiré' in Sleeping Beauty, 'Franz' in Coppelia, the Prince in Nutcracker and had the opportunity to work with some of the most influential choreographers to date, including Hans Van Manen, John Neumeier, Sir Peter Wright and Jirí Kylián. Other notable roles include Maurice Béjart's 'Le Jeune Homme et la Mort', 'Don Jose' in Roland Petit's Carmen, 'Lescaut' in Manon by Sir Kenneth MacMillan and he recently had the rare chance to perform Pina Bausch’s 'Le Sacre du Printemps'. His extensive repertoire also includes works by Nureyev, Balanchine, Cranko, Hynd, Robbins and Fokine, and contemporary works by David Dawson (A Million Kisses To My Skin), Annabelle Ochoa Lopez (Broken Wings), Azure Barton (Fantastic Beings), Liam Scarlett (No Man’s Land) and Akram Khan (Dust, Giselle), to name a few.

In recent years he had the chance to further develop his skills as a character artist, which reflects in his teaching where he puts big emphasis on expression and artistry.
