FAQs

+ What is Dance Forward?

Dance Forward offers an online platform where you can book online one on one training sessions with star dancers and teachers from around the globe.

+ Who are the tutors/coaches?

The tutors are distinguished teachers, and professional ballet dancers.

+ What dance lessons can I book?

Under each tutor profile it states what type of lessons they offer.

For example long barre, ballet class, pointe work and coaching solos.

If you have a specific request please contact us and we will do are best to organise if for you.

+ How do I book a ballet class?

  1. Go to the profile page of the tutor you wish to have a lesson with. You will see which lessons the tutor offers
  2. Click on class you require and number of lessons
  3. Click on “add to cart”
  4. Fill out the booking form with your details
  5. State your choice of class type from the drop down menu eg ballet class, pointe work, solo variation etc
  6. If you choose solo variation please state in text box the solo and ballet you wish to be coached on.
  7. Make sure you know the solo before you start the private lesson so the tutor can concentrate on coaching you on the variation
  8. Fill out the date and time required based on the tutors stated teaching days/hours.
  9. Once the form is completed you will see in the top right of the screen the trolley basket has one item.
  10. In order to complete the booking process you must first click on the trolley basket and confirm the order.
  11. You will then be taken to the secure payment page. Please follow the payment instructions to pay by debit or credit card
  12. By making the payment you are agreeing to the Dance Forward Online Terms & Conditions
  13. You have now completed the online teaching application and will receive an email from Dance Forward within 24 hours (usually within an hour during office hours)
  14. Dance Forward will contact the tutor with your date and time. The tutor will confirm the date/time for your lesson or suggest another option if they are not free.
  15. Dance Forward will email you with these details and finalise a date for the class.
  16. Once the time and date has been agreed you will receive an email from Dance Forward with a link to the Zoom website with a Meeting ID and Passcode.
  17. Please note you will need to download the Zoom App on your device in order to be able to access your ballet class online with your tutor

+ Once I’ve booked a dance class – what happens next?

  1. Dance Forward will contact the tutor with your date and time. The tutor will confirm a date/time for your lesson or suggest another option if they are not free. Dance Forward will email you with these details and finalise a date for the class.
  2. Once the time and date has been agreed you will receive an email from Dance Forward with a link to the Zoom website with a Meeting ID and Password. Please note you will need to download the Zoom App on your device in order to be able to access your ballet class online with your tutor.

+ What happens at the time of the class?

When it’s time to start the class, please, use the link from your email to start the online lesson with your tutor via Zoom.

+ What space do I need for my online ballet lesson?

Ideally you should take the lesson using your local ballet school studio. If you are not able to travel to your local studio Dance Forward suggests you should use an indoor room at home that is free from furniture and not less than 3 metres square for a barre and not less than 4 metres square for a class or variation.

+ What happens should I injury myself during the online ballet lesson?

Dance Forward and the tutor cannot be held responsible for any injury sustained before, during or after the online lesson. If you have a pre-existing injury you must let the tutor know so that they can adapt the lesson accordingly based on your injury. If you slip and fall during the class it could be possible that you need to cease taking the class and go to your local hospital for treatment. Ballet does involve physical repetitive exercise putting strain on muscles, joints, ligaments. There are inherent risks of serious personal injury involved in these activities. The dancer agrees and understands the risks involved in taking an online ballet lesson with a Dance Forward tutor and takes full responsibility for any injury, illness, death, damage to property that might happen during the lesson.

Disclaimer: As with all exercise programmes, you need to use common sense. To reduce and avoid injury you may want to check with your Doctor before beginning any fitness programme. By performing any fitness exercises or participating in these online classes, you are doing so at your own risk. Neither Dance Forward nor any of our teachers will be responsible or liable for any injury/harm or damage you sustain to you or your property as a result of our online classes or any information shared in these recordings. Thank you for your understanding.

+ What if I need to cancel my lesson?

Should you need to cancel your online lesson you must give Dance Forward at least 72 hours notice prior to the agreed class time in order to receive a full refund. You will need to email Dance Forward stating your class time for the refund to be processed. online@danceforward.co.uk

Should you need to cancel the lesson, for any reason, giving Dance Forward less than 72 hours notice before the start of the class, Dance Forward will unfortunately not be able to give a refund of the cost of the class.

+ Can I reschedule the online lesson?

A lesson can be rescheduled, at no extra cost as longs as you give us 48 hours notice. Please email online@danceforward.co.uk requesting the lesson is rescheduled.
